There, amidst the lentisks, ancient olive trees, majestic cypresses, and lush bougainvillea of of the hotel’s Cypriot botanical gardens, you will also find the entrance to your own relaxation, well-being, and rejuvenation.
The entrance to the award-winning Thalassa Spa. A truly enchanting space with a large indoor pool, state-of-the-art gym equipment, sauna, steam room, jacuzzi, specialized jet pool for thalassotherapy, tennis and squash courts, and of course, a plethora of rooms for specialized treatments and massages.
Many of these have a “signature” identity, such as the Sensatory Journey by Tata Harper, the Anassa Cypriot Twist, the top-rated Augustinus Bader advanced facial, and more. One of the most sought-after categories is the Massage Therapies, particularly The Anassa Massage (60 or 90 minutes), which caught our attention.
We arrived 15 minutes earlier at the reception, received thorough information about the entire process, and were led to the first relaxation room where we enjoyed a healthy blend of fresh juices and aromatic herbs. We completed a form detailing our preferences and peculiarities.
From there, our personal therapist took charge and guided us to the treatment room. Relaxing music, ideal temperature, and subtle lighting in the room, a comfortable bed, and pleasant aromas were our initial impressions recorded in our experience diary.
The therapist provided comprehensive information about the organic materials used for the massage, with the region’s olive oil as the star, and we only had to choose the aromatic essential oils. The vote, following olfactory testing, went to the otherworldly, with earthy and woody notes, the relaxing Patchouli, and the lemony and refreshing lemongrass.
A sixty-minute relaxation of body, mind, and soul, with the therapist truly excelling in her ability to pass on the intensity we selected, her hands moving over every muscle of the body, applying targeted pressure to areas already identified as more strained due to repeated movements or each guest’s lifestyle.
The relaxation process continued after the one-hour mark in a second adjacent space, where one could recline on a bed/chaise and enjoy herbal tea. A unique, holistic experience of mental, spiritual, and physical rejuvenation that I had been wanting to treat myself to for a long time and which I wholeheartedly recommend to you.
