After twenty-five years surveying the culinary scene in Greece, the prestigious Toque d’Or Awards have been established in Cyprus. Beginning in 2018, a team of journalists from Athinorama in Greece and Philelefteros in Cyprus visited over 150 restaurants across the island and sampled over 1600 individual dishes. The jury members applied the strictest international standards as they rated each restaurant. At a gala awards ceremony in November 2019, the first annual results were announced, and Anassa’s restaurants Helios and Basiliko were ranked among the top in Cyprus. Helios, our fine-dining restaurant serving French-Mediterranean á la carte and daily changing table d'hôte menus, received the Toque d’Or. Basiliko, which serves gourmet Asian cuisine with a hint of Mediterranean flavours, garnered the Top Notch Award. Each restaurant offers its own distinctive atmosphere. Helios invites you to savour your dinner to the accompaniment of harp and piano music; sit in our warmly appointed dining room or on the adjoining terrace with sea views and olive trees. Descend the candlelit stairway to Basiliko and find an intimate cellar with an adjacent starlit courtyard with fountain. At both, you will find creative preparations of the finest ingredients made under the direction of Executive Chef David Goodridge.
