International recording artist Alexia Vassiliou introduced pop music to Greek culture. Alexia has recorded 45 albums in genres including Greek classics, jazz, and improvisation, collaborating with the likes of Chick Corea, Stevie Wonder, and Chaka Khan. Now Alexia returns to her native Cyprus with a series of free events to engage children and adults alike. Believing that music of quality should be accessible to all, she offers workshops on 8-11 July for children ages 6 to 18 that develop listening, improvisation, and creative skills. Each child attends two workshop sessions and then participates in the 12 July drum circle by the sea (18:30-21:00). Later, on 22 July, enjoy “Alexia LIVE at Anassa,” which features Alexia, an international ensemble of musicians, and participants from the workshops (21:00-23:00).
